Looking for one of these buzzers. This one is from a 1991 located on the left side dash panel- so I am unsure if they varied over the years. I lost the ring- and the ring can not be bought seperate. The buzzer doesn't need to work just need the lock down ring. The picture I provided is not mine- It is to show you what the ring looks like on the buzzer. Thanks

Do a search for Piezoelectric buzzer or go to Radio Shack. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO A DEALER FOR IT!!!
BTW, you may want to just disconnect the system and watch the gauges. There are several threads on the issue. Do a site or Google search! piezoelectric buzzer The last one I bought was from McMaster. They are CHEAP!!!!!! (12.00 to 13.00$) |

Pete,
I'm pretty sure Rod wants to fill that large hole in his dash panel......hence the request for the nut. He has the buzzer. I thought I would forgo the alarm since mine was ridiculously loud at startup. One fine September day Cruising in gear talking to Uncle Todd, the Barefoot overheated. In the course of pleasant conversation, the temp gauge pegged and limp mode engaged. Would have been nice to have the buzzer alert us a little sooner. I'm not a fan of pulling off manufacturer supplied safety equipment, especially after that day. Also Rod, I have a replacement you could have but the diameter is slightly larger...thus making a bigger hole! |

That buzzer probably wouldn't have alerted you to an issue any faster then protec did (with limp mode), Steve.
That buzzer, when connected, was always a source of annoyance. Had one in our '88 and my '90 has one. It buzzed anytime the ignition was on prior to starting the engine, and would intermittently be shrieking at idle. Trust me, you learn to ignore it quickly (or disconnect it altogether)! Thank goodness CC only used them for a few years. Putting it back in for aesthetics only is a good idea, ha. Hopefully McMaster has what Rod needs. |

Someone ripped the back side of my buzzer out prior to me owning it. I left it that way as I have been in a lot of other boats (various brands) with buzzers that drive me nuts. I am actually thinking about completely getting rid of any radio head unit in favor of this little guy.
It is a blue tooth piece. It only requires a hot keyed source, ground, and a mic out cable to a head unit or a component amplifier. We just got our first two in and we will be experimenting with them on a few boats. The bracket comes off the back and it screws into place just like the buzzer or an ignition switch. If you push the button it pause/plays the music, quick tap right or left skips songs, and hold right or left controls volume. I think the diameter of the rear of that piece is the same as the buzzer. Easily reversible and won't completely ruin the dash like cutting a radio or remote hole in it. |
