Sorry this is not correctcraft related but I wanted to know if anyone knows if I can put a fly high pylon on my Outboard Fish & Ski Bass Boat. From the factory it came with the tripod pole thats located on the stern. The main paole is in the center and the other 2 support poles going to the left and right of the stern.
I've decided to wait on buying a Nautique; Just going to use the boat I have. I've got it lined up to buy a Sky Ski; the boat will pull it like it is but I would like to put a high rise pole on so I can learn how to do flips. I firmly believe there is a product out there for these types of boats. Let me know what yal think and if there is such a thing available for what im looking for.

Justin as a former owner of a F/S 180 with the same setup that you have I can tell you that you don't need high rise pole to learn inverts. It's all about technique and cutting into the wake. It's about speed and edging. It can be done as I have done it myself. Trick skiers are doing all sorts of inverts behind a ski boat that vertually has Zero wake and just the standard ski pole. I've seen Pros (yes I realize they are pros) do inverts behind a jet ski so thats just proof that it's technique.

The fishing platform that your pole is attached to wasn't designed for the stresses of a skylon/flightpipe and you would have to really beef up the area to prevent a skier from ripping off that platform when cranking on a turn. Not saying it can be done because if there is a will there is a way but I have never seen it.

I hope that we did not scare you off! A skyfly pole or other sort of tower-like device might work for your boat, but nobody here owns one so it would be difficult to say if it would work or not. The ski pole on our boats is mounted essentially to the engine frame. That is, it is not held on with just some screws and fiberglass. Have a look at the setup on your boat and see how strongly it is reinforced. That will give you a good starting point to know how much work would be involved with a pole or tower setup for your boat.

I'm sure there is a way to do it. It seems that every boat in the universe has a tower these days.
