Loving my 2008 Ski Nautique 206 - however recently I noticed that both my manual speedo guage and perfect pass LCD are not reading my speed - both showing zero.

Anyone know of a quick fix for this - I would thing that both run off the paddle wheel - but I don't believe this to be true. Paddle wheel on hull of boat would be for the manual gauge - doesn't perfect pass run off of GPS?

Any advise is greatly appreciated!!

Hey David,

As discussed, start with a check of the Gateway box and be sure everything is plugged in correctly. Don't believe an 08' has Pitot's so the Paddle wheel would be the next thing to check, be sure there is not something lodged in it and that it is able to spin freely.

Not all PP is GPS. You need to do some homework on your new boat!

Thanks guys - mine does not have the pito tubes - it has the paddle wheel under the hull - it moves freely with no problems.   I do not have a Gateway box in the trunk - must check all connections up under the helm.

Will also research my perfect pass - it may be that it runs of the paddle wheel as well hence it could be the connection inside the hull just in front of the engine.   This makes the most sense since neither my manual guage or my perfect pass speed reading is working.   The rest of the perfect pass functions are working - just no speed reading.

Thanks for the tips guys!

If a limited or team edition you should have a (Faria) gateway box, on an 05' with pitot's it is in the trunk, maybe on the newer non pitot models it is behind the kick panel at the helm. Paddle wheel is signaling both gauges unless your PP is the stargazer version which would then have a gps puck antenna. If all the connections to the gateway are fully inserted I would trace the wires from the paddle wheel to the gateway for any issues next.
