I am attempting to remove the ski pylon and engine cradle from my 85 ski nautique. I can't get the pylon to budge I tried lifting it with an engine hoist after removing all the bolts and all I did was lift the boat. What am I missing?

When my buddy removed the pylon from a '79, there was quite a bit of corrosion at the base. He used a big pipe wrench with a 3' long bar. Once he broke the corrosion, it came right out. He marred the base of the pylon a little, but polished it back up and looks brand new. Not sure if that is the correct way, but that is how he did it.

Did you get under the engine frame at the base of the pylon before in goes into the glassed in socket with a big pipe wrench and give it a twist when you had it under load? Oh and is the engine still in the boat? if so under load rap it with a big dead blow hammer! Might have to get mean with it!
Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.
