I'm looking for guidance on selecting a permanent water ski slalom course. Wallycourse, Accusink, Ez-slalom, others, etc. We have a large group that will help cover the costs and want something easy for anyone to maintain but yet indestructible at the same time. We are tired of patching together a 20 year old course that is half rope and steel. The mainline, diamonds, PVC will stay in the water all year and we would like to just remove the bouys and buoy cord at the end of the season. This will be on a public lake and it would be good if anyone of the core slalom maintenance group moves on to allow for new comers to be able to take over course maintenance and keep the sport alive at the lake.
Anyone have experience with the newer designs? Would love any issues and pros cons to help us select a replacement. |

I'd talk to Ed at EZ-Slalom before you do anything else. Product aside (and his product is incredible), he is an absolutely amazing resource for course construction and maintenance. I don't know of anybody in the industry who is more versed in floating course designs and options. We've used both his portable and permanent products and both have been genius. He will also send you plans if you wish to build your own. For example, you may want to get his steel mainline, then plans for the PVC arms which you can source locally. I've heard good and bad things about the sinker courses, I think those in particular require particular environmental factors.
Also, depending on course depth and location, individual anchors with sub-buoys for each ball may be your best bet though it will require a survey crew (Ed Brazil, etc.) to get exact. |
