I just got my new motor in the boa as well as 14x18 prop. I took it out for a maiden voyage yesterday, Motor ran great, the transmission ( Power Slot)i believe started slipping around 4300 RPM's and boat speed was about 36mph. The motor jumped in RPM's to about 5k with no more forward momentum. Would this be the trans slipping? What is a good solution ?

I did not check it, but did drain and add 1-½ quarts of fluid last week.

John, definitely check the tranny fluid. I usually check it when first dropped in the water. Cold. Mine is a PCM 1:23.
What boat do you have? Motor? |
