Is there a way to adjust the throttle throw distance?   I have a 99 Ski Nautique and would like to reduce the amount of travel required to get the boat up to speed. Some of the drivers are scared to push the throttle forward enough and I end up running a pass that is too slow. They know about the Perfect Pass and the beep but sometimes they just don't push the darn lever far enough forward and don't see the flash that says more throttle.

The throttle and shift control I have is this one. http://www.nautiqueparts.com/controlsinglemvteleflex-1996boats-on.aspx.   It has new cables as of last winter. I already have the throttle cable in the outer hole which I thought would make it travel farther in a shorter throw distance and believe this is the way it came factory. I have shortened the throttle cable up with the threaded adjustment to try to get it to engage sooner yet still timed correctly with the transmission engagement so it doesn't idle too high when putting around in gear.

Tips would be great!

Thanks
Jim

I would first say put the lever one knotch back on its splines like we did years ago, but if they don't have the sense to push the lever down enough then likely they will run you over picking you up with the new rearward neutral position.

I think you need to work with the driver. or find a new one Like you said, fear is the issue, and that a toxic mix. Modding the throttle will not fix the fear.
