Hello everybody

I'm new in this forum. I'm writhing from THE Netherlands so first i have to say sorry for my english

Offcourse i have a question, I'm searching for a SN but is see there are a few differents between THE boats, there are late 80's and early 90's like the 196, 2001, barefoot ect ect. And there is the Supra TMS6 competion build in 1991, found on THE internet.

Can and will somebody explain me THE differents between those boats?

What is the best one to buy? And were to look at when i'm buying a ski nautique

Here is a link to a thread that discusses what to look for when buying a CC.

Pre-purchase check list

There are brochures in the reference section of this site that will give you the basic information for each year of CC.

The SN2001 was built in the '80's. The SN hull was redesigned in 1990 to what is called the NWZ hull.

As far as which boat to buy it depends on your intended use. Do you barefoot, ski or wakeboard etc..? There is enough differences between the years and models that some are better for one activity but not as good for another.

Welcome to the site!

Budget would be helpful also, how much money do you want to spend.

The good news is there is a growing number of Correct Craft Fans in Europe, a couple in the Netherlands and one for sure in Belgium, my guess is it won't take them long to chime in here. But what is really great about that, is there are people, actually a nice network of folks in Europe that will be able to help you source parts and potentially even boats.

Another thing to consider is what type of fuel are you going to use. Are you going to go with Petrol or Propane? I don't know if you are limited to a normally carburated engine to convert to propane use or can a fuel injected engine be easily converted to run on propane? Krisof the mad Belgian will pipe in soon I'm sure.

Supra is a different company but during that era they shared some components with CC. The Supras that I am familiar with have the same engine as my CC. Specifically the PCM 351W and transmission. Not sure about the other parts but they are very similar boats. As far as CC's go it sounds like you would be looking at SN2001's or early '90's SN's. As I mentioned the hull changed for 1990. The NWZ is a larger boat with more interior room. The ski wake is smaller on the NWZ than the SN2001. Many prefer the SN2001 for wakeboarding but it is probably less functional for family outings. We have had a '92 NWZ since '93 and it worked for our family. Both my children (now 21 and 23) learned to ski and wakeboard behind it. There are lots of opinions about wake size but I believe children learn faster and become more proficient with a smaller wake. My son can throw flips behind our '92. When he has the opportunity to board behind a wakeboard specific boat he typically out rides everyone in the boat.

If you start a new thread titled something like Looking for good boat in Europe, you will probably get a quick response from the CCFANS over there, also one of them may already know of a good boat that is up for sale.

'92 was the last year for wood stringers. One less thing to worry about if you go '93 or newer.

For wakeboarding the 1982-1989 model (Also known as a "2001") would be boat of choice in lower budget range.
It has a phenomenal wake but the boat is small in comparison to newer models.

You might find in europe some of the correct craft / nautique boats will have a mercruiser engine, rather than the more common PCM engine. From what I have been told the Mercruiser was the conversion of choice for factory specced export boats due to part availability worldwide.

I bought one of these purely because I had heard its a great 'cheap' wakeboarding boat, I was not disappointed when I finally managed to get one.

Good luck on the search,

Here is a link to show you the wake behind a "2001" weighted and unweighted

Thats good there is a lot more knowledge floating around on this site for the PCM engines
at least thats what I have seen.

I have the mercruiser engine, which is built of a chev 350 but no big deal either way.

You're not going to find a "95 or newer for 8000 euros in the Netherlands. Plus, for wakeboarding, you'd be looking at Super Sport Nautiques, which are even more expensive.
Find the best 2001 available I'd say. Here's a reasonably priced one that's not totally screwed up, like most are in Holland.

I have a 2001 myself, and am Dutch, so if you need some help finding one just shoot me a message with a link to the ad and I'd be happy to give my opinion.
Also, where in NL are you? I got a buddy in Maastricht who could probably help you out.

Good luck!
