Hoping we have a plumber out there who can provide some guidance, Peter123 maybe?? Anyways, running a new supply line from my well pump house (heated building) to a separate building (will come up in heated crawl space). Using 1" SDR 9 Blue Ultra 250 PSI CTS     flex water pipe, run will be about 150' long underground at 48" below grade, soil likely to be black dirt with minimal aggregate, using an 8"W x 48"D trencher, entire run is pretty level. I do intend to also note the new pipe location on my site plan for future locate reference.

Question is do I need to make any special provisions for bedding the pipe in or can I simply lay it in the trench and simply backfill the dirt?? Any other thoughts comments also appreciated.

Thanks!!

Depending on the soil which you say has minimal aggregate you should be fine. If you want extra assurance of no issues than I would place ~ 4" of sand bedding and then lay the pipe (gosh that does not sound right) and cover with another ~4" of sand bedding.
Note that compaction of the bedding material will be a challenge - you will need to make a hand tamper and use some water to assist with compaction of the sand.
Keep in mind that if there is ever an issue with the line you will end up abandoning it in place as you will not "dig" a trench so the sand bedding may help you feel better about the installation and long term concerns.

Agree with sand. We followed the same process with our new waterline.
