Some object punched a hole through the port side windshield when trailering back from the lake. Any thoughts/ideas on where to look for a replacement?
I'm still trying to get in touch with CC to get the part number, so I can pass that on to Taylor Made and see if they still have it in stock. I've seen new replacements online, but that was for both sides. (very expensive). I'll attach a picture when I get it off my phone. |

I would try Century Marine. They aren't the CC dealer anymore but I would still call them. I have purchased two windshields from them over the years.

Thanks, yes very familiar with Century Marine. They were the first phone call I made, Unfortunately, all they were able to find was the same thing I did...both port and starboard sides.

I managed to cold bend a sheet of Lexan (Polycarbonate) to fit the shape of the frame on a 98 Sport

Scott,
If I remember, Mark ^^^^ contacted N3 (Zach) as well as others looking for his replacement and ended up with the polycarbonate but I don't know if it was due to it being NLA or the shipping to Australia was the problem. Give Zach a call and see what he has to say. |

Once you get it fixed you may want to consider removing the mirror while trailering. As I mentioned I have had two broken windshields. Both disintegrated while on the way to Lake Powell. I have a CIPA mirror that I would leave attached to the top of the windshield frame and just turn it down when I towed the boat. When the first one broke I assumed that a rock hit it. You know how bad Arizona is for rocks on the highway. After the second one broke I thought it might be a vibration problem. I have a one piece windshield with no supports so I added a support in the center between the dash and windshield and now always remove the mirror when towing. I haven't had a broken windshield since so either no rocks have come my way or vibration was the cause. Your windshield is a different design but it may be something to consider.

I have a passenger side windshield for a 196 though it has a silver extrusion/Frame.
Not sure how i could ship it except build a box on a palate. $250 plus the ride! |

Hi Fl Inboards, just following up. Do you happen to have a picture? I don't think I'd need the frame itself, just the glass. I believe my windshield is two pieces with a frame seam down the middle.
