The box that covers the engine in the Nautique 200 doesn't have much extra clearance room at the bow and stern ends of it. Removing the whole box (reach hoses/maintenance) and re-installing it is much more difficult for 1 person than it was in my 1999 SN. With the 200, you have to lift it evenly and straight up.

With 2 people, it works well. Unfortunately, I don't always have access to a second person.

Has anyone out there worked out a system to make this easier? I thought about clamping something onto the pylon to support one end and facilitate controlled lowering of a few inches at a time.

Thanks,
Dave

How often are you removing the engine?

I haven't removed the engine at all.

Access to the hoses and clamps for winterizing (closed cooling with raw water to trans oil cooler, oil cooler, heat exchanger) is much easier if I pick up the entire engine box and move it. I have been skiing this winter, so I have moved the engine box to winterize 3 times.
