Hoping someone can advise what the size/ID dimension of a cooling system hose on my '86 Martinique BR w/ 351.

I need to replace the long hose that comes off the bottom of the fresh water impeller housing and goes back to towards the stern to the lower end of the tranny cooler. I'm pretty sure it's a 4-ft length stick, but not sure exact diameter (ID), It should be wire reinforced in understand as its under pressure.

Also appreciate any rec on where to purchase on line...thanks in advance.

Assuming your 351 is a PCM its 1" diameter. I buy all my hose from SkiDim as they're about the cheapest and the quickest.

All of the smaller cooling hoses are 1" ID. The stuff pre rwp needs to be steel reinforced.

Given the location as I described in my original post, is this hose on the positive pressure side or on the suction/ negative pressure side?

I just put all steel reinforced in. Holds up nicely over time and it all looks the same.

Jeff,
Yes, confirming again, this is from your other post regarding the hose on the suction side of the RWP.

Jeff,
The 4' section from the trans cooler to the RWP is the suction side. I'd worry about that one.
