I will buy your Teleflex LCD tach, 2000-2002 vintage, working or not. I've revived my speedo but cracked the screen of my tach. I'm just trying to get the hours to display in order to have a baseline for our 2001 Sport GT-40.

I'm sure someone has one in a box somewhere...

No, sorry. I don't have a tach for you. I'm looking for a Teleflex speedo though. You wouldn't have to have an extra one, or know where I might find one, would you?

Sorry Bill, my speedo isn't even good for parts. I was only able to get some of the display to work for awhile and the face of the gauge was in bad enough shape I wasn't going to leave it on the boat anyway. Replaced both tach and speedo with Faria analog, Chesapeake trim, they match the originals pretty well. Once I did that I decided that all new Faria, Chesapeake trim, gauges will look the best. Still don't know how many hours the boat had originally but at least now we're keeping track of the hours we're putting on.

I've searched many web sites for LCD replacements and still haven't found any. I'll let you know if I ever do.

If you still have the original tach, you can apply power to it on the bench. I did that, and all of my segments lit up and I was able to read my hours. I'm wondering if the problem is a voltage problem, like LBC (Little British Cars) suffer. Too much resistance through the ignition switch. A relay might solve this problem. However, I damaged my speedo, so I'm in the process of replacing them with Faria mechanical gauges as well. I just have to pull the tank out or at least slide it forward so that I can get to the pitot tubes. Thanks anyway.

That's great Bill! At least you know your hours now.

I was working both the tach and speedo on the bench and after lots of internet search help, discovered that my particular problem was the ribbon cable to the display. I used the 'heat gun and erase' technique on the ribbon cable ends from the circuit board to the LCD itself and that's how I got the speedo to light up most of the segments but that only lasted about two outings in the FL summer heat. I still have them both and I'm hoping that some creative wiring restoration from the tach circuit board to the display will revive enough segments to show me the hours that I could then take a picture of. Winter project.   

To avoid having to redo your pitot tubes, you might consider the Faria GPS analog speedo. We went with that, and it looks perfectly at home in the 2001 Sport dash pod. Matched the Chesapeake trim gauge style exactly, not too pricey either.
