My fuel guage is not working. How do I test the guage to see if it is bad? I don't know if it is the gauge, the sending unit, or somewhere between them. Thanks for any and all help!

I would start with the sending unit. Take it out and move it up and down, check for loose wires and make sure the float is on, mine fell off years ago, which was the culprit when mine all of the sudden quit working.

When I tested mine I took the hot wire (pink) off the sending unit and touched it to ground. When I did that the needle on the gauge jumped. From that I surmised my problem was the sender not the gauge. Which turned out to be the case.
