302 Rebuild

I have a 77 Ski Tique that has some major stringer rot. I am planning to replace the stringers starting this fall. While I have the engine out, I would like to rebuild it to address what I believe is a tick from one of the lifters as well as replace other parts.

Is there a particular rebuild kit that anyone would suggest or would you recommend purchasing parts separately (pistons, rings, lifters,etc). Any specific brands that you would reccomens or avoid? I want to start picking up some parts now to avoid any long lead time delays.
