Had my guide posts replaced with newer Ramlin style possibly from 14-18 era. They need trimmed down some. How high are they typically above the side of the boat? Right now mine are about 42”. I’m thinking they should only be about 15”?

Many would say the taller the better.

Both of those are real good looking 93’s. Sounds like a silly question but cutting 30” off a guide post just Sounded ridiculous. Gregg, I was thinking about those same wheels on my 93 but I’m too nervous to deviate from the originals.

The wheels were not that expensive. Remember the "originals" can rust. These won't

You know you can adjust the height on most 90s ones underneath, Always better to have more than not enough when its windy or a deep ramp or at night...

My guide posts measure 18" above the side of my boat resting on the trailer.
These are unique with ABS plastic pipe covering my guide posts, the plastic allows the pipe to rotate if the boat presses against it while sliding up on the trailer.. There are bumpers that work as padding on the guide post but they also work as floaters, when I launch on steep ramps the plastic pipe will float up extending my guide post when needed. I don't think this is strong but it sure works as a guide when the trailer goes in deep. Not sure if it was designed to do this or just a bonus fluke of manufacture but it works well.

I think after about 93 they started doing that 96 does have the pvc over the guidepole extra high. , Personally I like it. my 89 and 91 are old school 91 you can adjust to boat . 89 is bolted to frame.
