Thank you, Hard to believe the boat's been done for 4 years now but it is showing a little wear. When I get back from the River run it is going into the garage for a few refresher coats of varnish and some touch up on paint.

Yeah most of us whine about gel coat fade—you’ve got a wood boat to contend with. Just seeing that boat on its trailer in the barn is a Huge understatement of what it takes to maintain that treasure.

If all you have to do is some touch up every 4 years—that says a lot about how well that boat was built to begin with.

I'm not following your logic here. Paint and varnish refreshing really has very little to do with how a wood boat was built. In fact, finishes have vastly improved through the year. It used to be a coat of varnish every year!.

My fuzzy logic however skewed is trying to point out that with four years of regular use, the only work you need is some touch up and a fresh top coat of varnish! That’s amazing!
