Anybody know what is the best approach for new/refurbish gauges for 76 Ski Nautique?
Hull is done, Engine is getting refreshed, now i need to think about what to do about all the gauges. If i get new, i'd like them to look right. i have 2 sets of speedo's, one white and on set black. It'd be cool to get the white [original style] back on there but they're looking a bit rough. suggestions? |

There’s a long lost member who had overlay stickers for the white ones that actually worked really well. jmurph is his name. Dean with Classic boatworks had a great selection of Airguide stuff but I think he sold all his inventory. How’s your chrome? ‘76 was a crossover year for the other gauges. Super early models got a chrome bezel with silver and blue face, rest of 76 got an all black and blue lettered gauge? Teleflex makes a gauge today that sort of resembles (at least they do after a few chugs of rum) the early 76 style Teleflexes, think the line is called Sterling.

I've bought a few NOS Teleflex gauges on ebay. Might take you a while to find a full set, but they're out there.

They're easy to replace, so you can always throw the boat back together with what you have on hand and swap gauges out as you find replacements

Hi Jim, I have a 78 Southwind that I'm restoring this winter. Had the same issue with my instruments. Mine were the original Teleflex gauges, a few didn't work and the rest were tired. After I removed them all I realized they can't be disassembled and rebuilt (without breaking them). I purchased a set of Faria gauges from Wholesale Marine out of Cincinnati. They were same size, had black-ground, looked age-appropriate, and only about $250 for all of them. They arrived, and I'm happy with them, just now getting them in the new dash.
