I put my carb back on the boat yesterday, after doing some winter mods (thank you KENO for the "o" ring gaskets). I noticed that the old base gasket was different (open design) vs. the new gaskets I picked up at AZ (Mr. Gasket) and OR's. The old (gasket had part # RM0054B) on it, which I assume is a Holley or PCM #, so it was probably made for the application.

I cut the new O'Reilly gasket to match up to the old one. I got home and looked at the skidim website, and it looks like the new RM0054B now has the 4 hole cut design.   Does is make any difference on design, and which to use? Also, will an aftermarket gasket be any worse than one that is actually a "marine" gasket. The thickness's on the two gaskets in the picture are both ~.060", although one is older and used.
