While getting the boat ready for the year I noticed that the steering needed a little budge to free up after sitting for the winter. It turns OK now so I am thinking it is more in the rudder than the cable. Does anyone know if the rudder has a grease zerk in a 2003 2016 SE? I haven't had the back seat out because well everything I have read says it is a pain and I haven't really figured out how to get it out and get to the rudder. I have the hard tanks and it is pretty tight in the trunk area. I have had the boat for 3 years and replaced all of the hoses, belts, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, thermostat as it only had 175 hours when I purchased it (actually blew holes in two hoses while footing so they were pretty rotten from sitting).
Whether it has a grease fitting or not can anyone give me the run down on removing the back seat so I can get the floor section up to get to the rudder. I am sure I will be changing the cable in the future anyway.. Thanks. |

Should be a remote zerk in the trunk mounted to the lifting ring threaded rod, may be a plastic cover in front of it
