Stringer rot in a 73 mustang

Hello,
Looking at purchasing a 73 mustang. Looked it over today. I tapped around on the stringers and they seam solid towards the stern but I get more of a hollow sound towards the bow and directly in front of the battery box if I pushed hard enough I think I’d push right through. Would it be safe to say the entire floor system and stringers will need to be replaced in the near future? Floor feels solid, all the upholstery is redone just not installed. Didn’t notice and major issues with the gel coat. They are asking 4500, but I’m guessing it will need at least that to get it up to par.

It is a lot of work to do stringers in that boat . At least you don't have to remove the top deck. Figure about 1500.00 if you do the work yourself and 3000.00 to 5000.00 to have it done. It will have to be a labor of love the boat will not be worth the cost of the repair at resale time. If you want to get a boat with no wood in the floor and stringers you need to look at 93 and newer.
