I deleted my muffler at end of last season out of necessity. It had been burned out by the PO at some point and was leaking. Mechanic looked at it when they did the head gaskets and felt it was beyond repair. Not only was one of the inlets collapsing, it had already been repaired once and it was failing. I also suspect the inside of the thing was jacked up too.

So I tried the wye adapter and straight piped this thing. The first couple runs I thought it was cool and the noise level was tolerable... but the tide is turning on that. On longer rides the droning sound is too much, and my wife and toddler are not fans either.

Before I drop $600 large (plus) on a new one   from nautique parts, has anyone had luck with any aftermarket options?

I was checking out skidim and they havethis one, looks fine but not sure if it's effective or if it will fit in there.

Other options to consider? Or just pony up the cash for a new muffler? I've searched for a used one for a long time and haven't found anything.

Centek Industries makes many different styles, shapes and sizes of marine mufflers.

Depending on your exhaust system hose diameter, you can look at 3" and 3.5" mufflers on the link above. Depending on how your exhaust hoses and other bilge accouterments are laid out, there may be several options to choose from.

If I don’t need it to fit a new muffler (ie an aftermarket one) then I’m happy to sell it.

Thanks - useful link. I’ll try and get some measurements and see how much room I have, maybe I can sneak in a small one.
