Hey guys, I know lots of you are on Norris Lake in Tennessee, but I don’t know if any of you are inhabitants of the Watts Bar area. We are considering a lake home there and wonder if any good CCF knuckleheads might be neighbors.

So Peter, you want to get away from that bad CCfan knucklehead neighbor you have now?

More likely the horrible freezing temperatures and high taxes of Illinois!

We’re changing our domicile to TN. We are gonna keep our Illinois home for several
More years. We will spend winter, Spring and Fall in TN and Summer in IL at least at this point.

Taxes are a big consideration.

Do your homework Pete. With the licence plate fee's going crazy here I've started moving that stuff over. But if your keeping a house here and you officially make Tennessee your home you will loose your homestead exemption here. The money you "save" might not be equal to what you might lose. Last meeting with our advisor about a year ago I was told to stay put......

I’m still working and paying income taxes in Illinois and they’re looking to raise that with a new “fair tax” in November. . The income tax savings alone pays for the Second home. Hard to beat free. Saw a few direct drive ski boats in the Boathouses. Gonna have to hope a few folks like Fall and Spring skiing. Maybe even find a winter skier or two.

My Aunt & Uncle are on Watts Bar, but way up there just beyond Kingston Park, so the very top of the lake where the rivers come together. Nice place. My parents retired in the area too, but they're on Ft. Loudon...Turkey Creek, that now has too many boats.

Loudon is big money now. We are looking at 10 Mile and homes with boathouses on main channel sell in 1 to 3 days.
