318 chrysler Carter to holly

My old Carter carb is about ready for a rebuild. I have a new holly carb on the shelf i had gotten fir a mastercraft that i never installed, it would need an adapter to fit on the engine. Any input if I should get an adapter pate or stick with the Carter?
