Hi. I bought a completely redone 1978 ski Nautique. It was running fine than got a big rain and the battery got wet. I put in a fresh battery and now it won’t start. It has a 351 Windsor in it. I am going to look at it tonight but wondering if anyone knows where the fuse box is? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. I already syphoned our the gas and our fresh gas in. It will turn over just won’t catch to start that’s why I feel it may have blown a fuse when the batter got under water.

huh.
If the battery was under water, the starter was likely under water . jump the relay and see if it turns

I am not incredibly savvy at this. How do I jump the relay?

Jessica,
So the engine cranks/turns over but won't fire up correct? I feel something got wet in the ignition system. I'd pull the distributor cap and see if there's any moisture in it. Check that you have voltage at the coil when cranking. Fuses? Depending on what was done to the boat, the only original ones are the fuses in the dash.

Correct thank you so much! That’s why I felt it was something with the fuse as it’s just not firing. How do I check to see if I have voltage at the coil?

A volt meter is preferred but test light can be used.
