What is the gauge of the stainless steel locking wire used by Correct Craft to secure the packing nut and locking nut?
My boat is a 1997 Ski Nautique (351w PCM; carburetor-equipped). Thanks very much for any input! |

Standard Aircraft safety wire is .032 SS. Electrical Cannon Plugs are normally safetied with brass .020. Never had to buy it so I guess you can get it at Tractor Supply???

I just use whatever I have laying around and will fit in the holes.
BTW, it wasn't untill the later years say the 80's that they even had holes for safety wiring the gland jam nut.

I don't think Bread twist ties qualifies as safety wire. ..... |

Actually, the 10lb. spool of .030 SS mig wire on my welder is a great source.
