Could somebody weigh in and make sure I'm not doing something stupid, please?
 For grounding the fuel tank (and fuel fill plate), can I run a grounding wire directly from the tab on the fuel tank to the engine block? I have the fuel fill plate already grounded to the fuel tank. Then, can I use the ground wire that goes to the gauges to ground both the stern light and the blower fan? In my head this makes sense but I'm by no means an electrical engineer and considering fuel is involved, I want to be 100% sure I'm doing everything safely. Thanks!

Rob,
The engine is the basic ground via the negative battery connection. As long as you find a good clean connection point (bolt) on the engine, I feel it's the best place to start. Everything under the aft deck can use the same ground via "daisy chaining" as long as the wire gauge is heavy enough to handle the load. I'd run the ground from the block aft end to everything. 14ga. should handle the load. The bilge blower is the bigest load.
