Long sad story.
Was in storage for a couple years so over the winter had it tuned up, new battery, impeller and put in electronic ignition. This summer it never idled well. Took it out on the open lake and ran good then died coming in on the no wake zone. All we could do to get it to the dock. The shop that did the work went out of business but talked to the mechanic for a minute and he said to play with the idle mixture because he tuned it in cold weather. That helped a bit and had it idling nicely, I turned it off for a few minutes. Then we went to take it out and it would start for a minute then die. Would not idle. Worked and worked with it all day. Ended up running down the battery. Charged and noticed the fuse blew in the blower so put a new one in and tried again next day - no luck so don't think it's vapor lock (was a hot day and blower wasn't working but we had the cover off anyway working on it). We took the battery out and charged again to take to a mechanic. When we did that saw the terminal was old and actually cracked when we kept working with it so bought a new one and gave it, along with the boat, to a mechanic. He said he'd get to it within a couple days. After weeks and excuses he finally got to it and said after fixing the terminal and putting the battery back in it arced. Some kind of electrical issue. Said he'd look into it further and thats been another week or so and still hasn't gotten around to it. Summer is about over and never really got to enjoy the boat. That's where we're at. |

Terrie, you could contact drydockboat.com here in Cincinnati. They have an excellent reputation here. Tracy Hendrickson owns the shop. They are located north of town so access to them would be simpler. Their number is 513-860-9111.

Thank you!
I'll give them a call. We've had a hard time finding anyone who will work on older boats. There was a place on Kellogg Ave in Cincy that we took it to last winter but they've gone out of business and didn't leave it running right after all if their work was done. The person who has it at the moment doesn't seem to have the time to look at it |
