Hi…I have a ‘69 Wildcat with a 454. My concern is the throttle cable. It’s getting very worn in one spot by the main belt. No matter if I gently pull the excess cable away from the belt, it still finds its way back to getting rubbed and worn by the belt. I find this happens when I put the doghouse back down, it goes back to where it will rub the belt. Should the cable be disconnected from where it attaches to throttle mechanism and feed it a different way so it’s away from the belt? Thanks

I have what I think is the same hull as yours..not that it matters...My cables come from the back and do not have a chance to interfere with the belt.  If needed the morse control can be set up for either push or pull.

Mine go from the Morse helm, behind the upholstered siding, under the floor and enter the engine compartment on the starboard side, under the engine and run up the port side and curves upward and then to the carburetor area. Where it comes up under the engine is the same side as my alternator/belt…thats where it rubs against the cable. So, yesterday I gently pulled the cable to get the slack and positioned the cable under the alternator and zip tied it to keep it from moving close to the belt. It seems to have worked. I think problem solved.
