This might be a dopey question, but I have a used Shore Station for my SN 2001. It has the old style flip flop supports on it, and the previous lift owner screwed 4x6 beams to the supports from front to rear. My boat fits fine, but those beams are so buoyant that the cradle floats and makes loading the boat a little tricky. Will it hurt my boat to take those 4x6s off and just use those 4 floppy pads to hold the boat?

Why don't you try something with half the buoyancy like 2x6 beams for example?

We had a similar problem with the lift floating because a full keel boat needed the height on the bunks to clear. Our solution was to attach 3" pvc filled with cement

I put a seet of these on my lift a few years ago. didnt want to deal with wood and carpet again. Most every manufacturer makes these for lifts. Alumn. with rubber-ish blue on top.

Wow, Cant believe this picture upload actually worked today ????

I thought about that, but my lift is in a shallow area and I would rather have the cradle just sink all the way down and keep tension on the cable.

I also considered adding weights, but my lift is rated for 2600 lbs (4000lb winch though, I don't get it) but I dont want to max out my lift or make it harder to raise out of the water when I leave for home.

Mpost, that would not be a bad idea. I'll have to look into that.

I just tried to post a picture the CCF way and it worked too,

The Atta Boy would have been appropriate about 6 months ago, but these days I'll stick with IMGBB.

The Atta Boy would also have been appropriate if there was any kind of communication at all from Keith about the issue in the last 6 months

I'll guess that since his wife posted a picture on June 21 to promote selling CCF apparel they noticed that pictures weren't working and fixed it then so they could get a picture of some shirts posted

Just a guess of course  Wink

Speaking of pictures, I was at the lake looking at my boat on the lift and should have taken a couple pics. I realized that I'd have to move the flip flops closer to the center to keep the hull off the cradle, at least in front. Rear too probably, but the water was chilly and I didn't want to go that deep. I'm a little concerned about the boat tipping over if they are as close as they need to be, and the 2x6 on edge are going to take up water depth I don't have. Maybe I'll try to add another se tonight of pier and move my lift deeper. Maybe look for a Shore Master lift instead.
