Thought this link I found may be interisting to anybody looking at upgrading or changing heads. The GT40 heads are quite a bit higher priced than the GT40P.
The GT40P head is available from Ford Racing. I did have to drill out the Bolt holes to accept 1/2" bolts, and they do use a different spark plug. Just thought this may help someone. Let me know your thoughts if they differ. http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/gt40p_files/gt40p1.htm |

Ive posted that link here before (thread #1, thread #2 and thread #3). Great site for GT40P info.
If youre considering buying some, I recommend you look at Tristate Cylinder head. They are reconditioned, but they should be cheaper (currently $540 for the set) than Ford Racing. They also come with upgraded valve springs- the stock ones are only good up to .500 of lift which is borderline for an upgraded cam. |

The GT40p's use the same plug as the regular GT40's. Im running Autolite 764's.

FYI, AWSF-32C are the plugs recommended by tristate for thier gt40p heads. They do some clearancing of the plug boss to fit slightly larger valves into the heads, don't know if that effects the recommended plug insertion length or not... I just used the plugs they told me.

I have a set of GT40P heads for sale. They are equipped with 1.94/1.50 stainless steel valves and Comp Cams springs. They are drilled fro 1/2" head bolts and drilled and tapped for screw in studs and guide plates (which have been installed). They also have new cast iron valve guides installed and are machined down to accomodate cams up to .550 lift and have teflon seals. These heads are like brand new and ready to install.
