so the impeller has a bad connection somewhere causing it to loose suction therefore not getting any water to the engine which pegs the temp gauge. so i put apoxy on every place where a hose connects somewhere to close it up.gotta wait till the morning for it to set up. god i hope it fixes.....

might have been a lot easier to tighten the hose clamps instead or checked the sea-strainer. Now you will never get the old hoses off without cutting them.

Sounds like a bad thermostat. Pull it out and put in a pot of water on the stove to test it. Use a meat thermometer to check the temps that it opens and closes. Or you can just through in a new one.
Unless there is some kind of restriction in the raw water line these pumps will not lose sunction. |

well that's one of two things, it's sucking alot of air, or the rwp is backwards. |

I believe he has a 454. I think its a lot harder to install one of those water pumps backwards than it is on the 351w. Theres a 3rd possibility- the impeller is junk. Id pull the pump and inspect the blades. Also be sure that the rubber hasnt seperated from the metal. |

make sure your hoses going to the raw water pump are not backwards seen that happen before on a 454.
