Wow, that's a pretty poor turnout. I expected more boats than that. You figure gas prices or not being able to put them in the water kept the count down?

What's the usual turnout??

Mojo: Definatly not a boring time. Usually there was 100 boats....Ohio was always the largest. Seeing all those C/C's and their tow rigs was cool. We still go here in Orlando and have a great time. Maybe you should come on down here for our Reunion in Seeptember...me and MM will show you a good time.

Yeah, it seemed quite a bit smaller than 2 years ago when we went, but it was still good times...there were a few boats i could sit & stare at all day (1) Glens 87 2001, & (2) an absolutely perfect '89 BFN...nearly flawless, this boat might've fit you guys' description of "mint"... ill see if i can get a minute to sit down tonight after hockey to get em uploaded...

Mojo: you know you have a standing invite to stay here. We'll hook up with MM and Backfoot and show ya a good time.

In fact if quinner wants to come down as well I'd love to show him a good time.

We went 2 (maybe 3?) years ago, and I was disappointed. Only 40 or so boats, and all on the trailers. Seemed like kind of a waste. This year, we figured we'd save the gas in the tow vehicle and put it in the boat. We'll definitely be in Green Lake though (both the water and the town!)

Hope my post didn't result in your not wanting to share your pics. I'd still be very interested, and I hope you didn't take offense to what I said above.

Nate: Was very surprised to see this thread reappear...loved the pics...thanks. Saw a couple I recognized....Bill Burgess's (sp?) brown nitro boat...a winner down here in Orlando...beat me and MM...and Glen Norris's beautiful red 2001. Great to see these pics...even if it did take you a while to get them up.

yeah if i remember correctly, the brown nitro boat took second in its class. Cool boat but i dunno, seems a bit unnecessary for a ski boat, but cool i guess. (maybe im just still bitter i didn't do well like i did 2 years ago hahaha) But yeah i got to see Glen's boat & droool over it for a bit.

nate & TRB: Don't you guys have to work during the day?

As to the brown boat...I have heard that the guy who owns it is an old racer..just likes to go fast. I like to go fast too..to foot..not sure if I'd ever need 70 tho.

Know what I like best about Glen's boat nate...the red carpet. Of course the whole boat is super clean.

Nate,

Are you a competitive swimmer or do you just put in the laps for fun?

Hansel, Did a triathlon this past summer, & i'm hooked, so I've been going to Master's practices every week, & doing workouts that our coach emails us every week... just trying to cut my swim split in the next tri, I'm loving the swimming, except for the chlorine making my skin burn & my hair feel like horse hair hahaha... do u swim?

Nate,

I was a swimmer through high school and most of college. I have a lot of swimmer friends that do triathlons and love it, especially the swimming part because they are so good at that part. I myself have never done one, but if you are putting in that kind of effort I imagine that you will reap a pretty substantial benefit. Good Luck with it, it is a little hard at first but once you get good form down it becomes a lot easier.

Sorry for the thread-jack!

John,
I love the red carpet too. The wife is thinking it is getting close to needing replacing. The nap is gone, and it is pretty flat on the feet. The carpet in Mike's boat is fluffy and feels great on the feet, but I guess 20 yr old vs. 7 year old carpet will do that.

Nate/John, thanks for the compliements on the boat. She's all winterized, and sleeping in the garage. I can still go out and sit in it and make vroom, vroom sounds to put me in the mood!!

Glen: I know exactly what you mean. Remember my Yellow '78 I got from Steve's widow? Used to keep it in our garage and all winter Patti would find me and Dennis out there just sitting in it. If you do replace the carpet...you better do RED!

Ahhhh eric....right you are my friend!

yeah, mine went into storage last weekend, though, sadly, i can't just go & sit in it whenever i want & make the vroom vroom sounds as it's in the fair grounds about an hr away from home (10 mins from the cottage)... it's a sad time of year...

Glad to see your opinion about this years reunion hasn't changed! I too still think yours or mine were better and there were others just about as nice. But really...hasbeen's was far and above all the rest.
