   I'm a first time inboard boat owner of a 1994 American Skier Legend boat with the Indmar 351 (300 hours). I've managed to hit bottom....prop is bent and prop shaft mount is now leaking into boat. Prop mount appears to be solid, shaft does not appear to be bent - however there is a 1" chunk of material maybe 1/2" in depth that was from a previous repair came from around the exterior of the mounting flange. The interior of the mount area has no visible damage - although I can see where the leak has developed from fiberglass repair of previous damage.

My questions are  1. what do I need to do to make sure the prop support is structurally sound? 2. is there a special bonding filler to use to fill  1" x 1/2" void on exterior? 

3. any other considerations?

	Jerry, I will bet you do have a bent shaft. You will need to check it as well as the strut still lining up with the hole it the bottom of the boat and then after bad components are replaced, a alignment. When you are saying the shaft support, I think you are referring to the strut. It has the 4 bolts holding it on to the hull. It sounds to me that the previous "repair" was done cosmetically with a simple filling material like marine-tex. The area needs to be ground out and dried and then filled with a marine epoxy with high a strength micro fiber filler. Do a Careful examination of the area to look for any cracking or delamination of the hull. You have a leak so I think you do have a crack!! You may need a couple layers of glass laid in with epoxy resin on the inside if you find any cracking. The only other option would be to trade it in on a Correct Craft!!
