I am looking for some parts for my 62 Classic.
I need the bow light, rear light pole with mount, cleats, eye brow vents, and gauges. I would like to install fuel gauge. Any idea what sending units should be used? Thanks for your help.

Eric,
I think you'd have to change to a new fuel tank if you want a gauge. I dont think yours has a place for a sender.

I just replaced the gauges in my 64 last summer and used stewart Warners...pretty close to original looking. btw, it only has oil pressure, water temp, and volt meter.
I found a nos tach on good-ol ebay.

Is this the style bow light you got? I might have an extra?

Steve,
Your right I don't have a sender so I thought I might try and find a similar size tank and cut a hole in the top and add a sender and fuel gauge. I am a long way from that point right now. I will look into the Stewart Warner gauges. I as well only have the three gauges. I believe the light on the front of your 64 is the same as mine. Not sure because I don't have one at the moment. I would be interested in yours if you still have it.
Thanks,
Eric

Eric, I've set up ebay to notify me on bow lights that come up because I'm looking for one for my Dunphy. It's amazing the number of lights that do get on ebay. I never knew that so many existed! Regrettably in 9 months of searching, I haven't seen the one I'm looking for however, plenty of the ones like Steve's. Perko still makes a all metal stern light that would look good on the Classic. Look it up at West Marine. Have a friend with a 69 Barracuda and he got a new one. Turned out to be damn close to the exact one! The old screw holes even matched.

Pete, Thanks I saw it today and I plan on bidding later. on a differnt subject, Do you know who made the water pumps for my crusader 283. It looks like I have a crack next to the drain plug. I don't know how bad yet. I am waiting until the boat is ready before I start taking the power plant apart. Welding might be an option if I can get it rebuilt.

Why consider having this stuff rechromed if it's available on ebay?

Eric, I have to guess that the crack is on the raw water pump as most marinizers of that era weren't using the standard automotive circulating pumps. They would get a long block and then a block off plate or cast housing would be put in it's place, I'm not to sure about the Crusader. Is there a name on the pump? Is it the raw water pump? Take a look at it and get back to us.

Eric, These people may be able to help with the above.

A&A marine

Do you have a gas gauge now or is it the one on the tank that you look at through the little deck window?

Pete,
I won the bow light which is great. It looked a bit pited but I feel it is better to have one and look for a better on later. I am going to take a picture of the motor with the pump on which is diffently not an auto type. Mine has the pump mounted to the block and then the trans mounted to the pump. I believe when I take it apart I will see the blocking plate. The fuel tank did not have fuel sender or site window. Just a vent pipe, fill pipe and chrome cap and fuel line.

Eric, My 54 as well as many older boats came with the high tech version gas gauges. It's called a yard stick!!

So who's vintage-esque? I'm interested in a new one as well as cleats. Mine are badly pitted. Buying used has to be less expensive than rechroming.

Here it is! The picture is from my X55 Dunphy. The bow light needed is actually for Craig (64X55) who has started restoring a X. It sure would be great if you came up with it.

If you haven't checked this manufacturer's site do so. They've provided hardware to Correct Craft and others for years. Don't think they have lights, but oh the hardware. And really nice people. They are trying to help me right now with a new strut for our Classic to replace the crazy adjustable one. I just checked now and the hdwe section is "under construction". You may not be able to buy directly from them so if anyone runs into a problem I can purchase from them thru Marysville Marine and more that likely Eric Lavine can buy direct from them.

Well Pete good news I have that one in my own barn and it took less than an hour to find it.Both lenses in good shape marked perko on top just aft of the burgee pole.It will have to be rechromed for show, but probably polish up for user slight pitting.

Will sell to your friend for whatever you decide is a fair price.Wouldn't this same piece be on late 50's Chris Crafts?I'm sure your knowledge for exceeds mine on that.

Send me an e-mail via this site and we can work something out on this bow light.

Munday, Thanks! All I can say is wow! I've been looking for Craig for well over a year. I think I've seen every bow light made except for the one Dunphy used. I'll email Him now to tell him to get in touch with you. I of coarse will keep a eye on the situation.

Well it was a lucky deal but thats how you find old boat parts.Ask enough people and someday you ask the right one. That one was deeply buried and boxxed but not marked what it came off of.My granddad Dee never threw any metal away god bless him

Munday,

Figured I'd post a note here relating to the bow light you found following your discussions above with Pete.

I sent you an e-mail yesterday (through this site) about the light. Just wanted to be sure it got through. If it didn't, please contact me (via the e-mail in my profile); I'd like to move forward with purchasing the light.
As mentioned, I figured I'd post a note here in case the message didn't get to you for some reason.

Oops! Okay, I'm editing here -- Looks like I had my e-amil address set to private. Sorry. Should be able to contact me now assuming that may have been the problem. I just changed the setting!
Thanks,
64X55

Bob,
Wow, okay, I've sent you a message from one e-mail twice now and then another e-mail once! The first one (night before last) apparently didn't go through. I got a message that indicated it was not going out (the first night) but I resent it and then forwarded to another address and sent it from there too.
Hopefully it's found it's way to you by now! I haven't had any problems with any other e-mails. Anyway, I'm guessing it surely got through now. It's basically just a verification that I'd like to get the bow light and some discussion re: a price. Let me know what you think (reasonable price, etc.).
Thanks -Craig

Bob,
I'm looking for wind wings and a swept back bow light flag pole for my Classic. Any chance you'd have something like that in your treasure chest?
