Well Joe since no-one else is answering...I might as well get it started.
Along with a barn full of about 20 other Nautiques my boats were always kept at Sonny's Beach, Danbury, on the north end of Sandusky Bay. We were members of a club, The West Shore Water Ski Club, that has been in operation since 1957 and has had a cottage on the Bay since 1970. Of course we are now in Central Florida. But lots of our buddies are still up there. Been to Milton and Berlin too. john |

Joe,
My boat sees most of its action in Tennessee. I grew up with John (from above post) skiing in the bay, but the older I get, Lake Erie is too cold, too dirty & too rough for me!! I'd love to find places closer to take my boat for day trips. How busy is Lake Milton?? Weekends vs. weekdays? Glen |

gn im offended about your lake erie comment, sure at one time it did catch on fire, and water is known to do that from time to time, but there is no better place to run a boat then on lake erie, 4 to 6 footers is what i prefer.
jk, i live and boat in Aurora shores, with whatever boat i have at the time or we will go to Lake Erie, nothing better on a clear day BTW, the lake has really cleared up since the zebra mussels |

?!!?
I saw those on a show about transplanted species. Cane toads in australia, ferral hogs in hawaii, zebra mussels in the great lakes...all causing big trouble! I think the zebra damage estimates were right around the billion $ mark. |

lake Milton is a "ok" lake, but there is a nice wakeboard shop near the marina..its good in the early am and on most weeknights. I usually stay on portage during the weekend cause of the social crowd....alot of bars on the shores great boating crowd..

My turn for a thread jack John- One of the guys I used to work with, who is now retired, was a Vietnam vet.One day we were installing at this house and he asks the woman where she moved from. She says southern Ohio.He then says, seriously, boy you don't sound like a hillbilly.I nearly fell over!Turns out he had been in the army with some guys from down there and after he said it he realized how it must have sounded.Later that afternoon I told the others in the garage and then everyone would always ask him, how does one sound?.Good old Doc always says I dont know how Gary remembers these things but don't tell him anything you don't want him to know.I told the young guys the story again at his retirement party. He was an artilleryman and had also told us about "pulling his lanyard and firing his weapon" which was always an ice breaker at phone functions.

Got one tommorow night. I worked with both since '79 and they are leaving with 37 yrs each! Two more were rehired monday as contractors doing inspecting for that TV thing.Nice job if you could get that, but you have to be gone for 6 months before you can come back, and you have to use your own car to go on job visits.

I live in Rossford, Ohio, close to Toledo. We keep the boat at our cottage at Lake Seneca in Montpelier, Ohio; about an hour from here.

Looked up all the places mentionned in the posts here with Google Earth, so I can place you guys on a map...
Any of you have Google Earth on their machines? (You can download it free BTW) For those who do: look up "Bree" and "Aldeneik"... You will see where I live and where I ski and boat... For those who don't have Google Earth, a few screen shots to show you... |

We are in Lake Wales. Zip code is 33859. Halfway between Tampa and Orlando. 25 miles south of Interstate 4.
Thanks for the google of your place. looks like a cool area. eric: You know big girls need lovin' too. Gary: My best friend who took a buy-out the year before me is back as a contractor as well. No benefits...uses his own car....constant hassels and threats from todays type of mamagers who ain't qualified to carry his tools. I quess the money is good but not sure I'd like to put up with all the other stuff. john |

82wake- I live in Jackson Twp, about 10 - 15 minutes from Portage Lakes. We spent most of our time either at Portage or Berlin last year. went to Milton once. My buddy who I bought my boat from used to live on Portage Lakes, and I spent a lot of time out there in the early to mid 90's.
Berlin is a nice lake, 5th largest in Ohio, but can get shallow at times, you have to know where the low spots are, You can't beat Portage for the bar scene. I am hoping to get to some other local lakes this year. BTW is your boat yellow? I think I may have seen it docked out at Dustys last year. Not a lot of CC's on Portage Lakes, lots and lots of them out at Berlin. We will have to meet up for a beer or two out at Portage this year. Maybe a CCF mini-reunion at Portage Or Berlin this year? |

OK John, found it.
Do you boat on the lake in Lake Wales or at the lake near River Ranch? BTW, you're quite close to the new CC factory as I can see... |

Kristof: Wow...to cool that a guy so far away can find where we are so easy.
Yes we are very close to the new factory...MM is closer tho. We have not been there yet but was to the old one many times. Bring your lovely bride for a visit and we'll go there. I have skied on Lake Wales but it is a little shallow at the ramp right now. Never been to River Ranch...big hill-jack place for shooting hogs and four-wheelin'. Backfoot100 (Eddie) and I foot on Lake Elbert, which you should be able to find. Just a little north of us in Winter Haven. john |

You and Chantal are penciled in for '09. Just let me know the month. Plan on staying a while. None of these 2 or 3 day visits. It'll take some time to see the Factory, go to the Majic Kingdom, ski, and meet the guys like MM and Backfoot. Wow I am lookin' forward to it already!
