Hi my name is Brent Miller. I purchased a 1978 Correct Craft Mustang 17 with no motor. I have been trying to locate an engine (complete preferably, but am getting desperate). I believe the original engine is a Mercruiser 305. I assume reverse rotation. Please let me know if you have one reasonably priced or know of where one is at. I have been trying to get this running by spring but it looks like it will be another year if I can't find one soon....
THanks,
Brent Miller

stock would have been a 302 ford reverse rotation motor most likely.

A 302 would have been the most common, but it also could have been a Chevy... doubtful it was a Mercruiser though. I think OMC was doing the Chevies for CC at that point.

That would be correct. My 76 OMC.
I know White Lake Marine had a mustang of that vintage with the 305 chevy in in a while ago. Obviously the 302 was much more common, but there were a few chevies.
