| It appears I have a leak in my Starboard side exhaust hose, I just noticed it while starting my Nauti up for the first time this year on the Fake 'a Lake. First Question, the flooring that runs from the dog house to the gas tank has a section that looks to be the same width of the dog house (83 Ski Nautique) Should I be able to just lift this portion of the floor out without unscrewing, unbolting, ect. Also, I was able to to see that the leak must be coming from this area, as there was no leak evident at the exhaust through hull fittings back by the gas tank. If it is the "rubber" hosing, any ideas for a quick fix, I thought I had seen a mention of JB weld once.... Something to get me on the water until the replacement arrives. Thanks in advance for any help. |

You should be able to lift it off if the carpet divides at that section also. It is apparently screwed down (screws are hidden under the dog house and behind the back seat)? This is just what I have been told by helpful others -- I can't verify for sure since my 78 SN was not in original condition when I pulled up this section.
It only took me 3 days to get replacement hose. It might just be a loose hose clamp. ------------- livin', lovin', lovin' livin' |

No temporary fixes, that hose is underwater, that exhaust leak is a potential water leak that will sink your ship. My panel simply lifts out after you pull the pins on the doghouse and remove the panel behind the back seat back. Not sure if it is the same as my 89 Sport, but to get that floor section out of mine, you have to remove the rear bench seat by pulling the two pins under the seat. Then remove the dog house by opening and pulling the pins at the rear. It should then come right out. Mine was not bolt down or anything like that. It really stinks when work takes a person away from C/CFAN...even if you are at work, on the clock and on their computer.

The leak is probably coming from the fiberglass mufflers that have cracked at the hose fitting(s). An easy repair if you know how to do fiberglass work...and even if you don't. ------------- |
