My buddy has a 79 american skier. Whenever we drive it and turn left then turn right it takes a few seconds to catch and then it just pulls the boat. Any help?

Replace the steering cable, mine did the same thing just before it broke.

Dont drive it like that failure is emminent and wont be pretty. Its possible its the helm and not the cable but its bad either way.
