I agree, nice car I would totally drive.
I'm still pretty happy with this. Can fit a full size spare, AND four of it's tires in the trunk.

You gotta love the half-covered rear wheelwells. Classic touch.

Those of us who built model cars in the 60s (AMT, Revell...) would know that those are called "fender skirts". Most kits came with some, just in case you wanted to build the "custom" version of the car.
I guess they sort of went the way of fuzzy dice. If you were really hip, they went all the way down to the bottom edge of the car.
Nice car HW... my grandpappy always had a big caddy. You could sleep six in the back seat, but I am guessing you already know that. He also always had this great tugboat horn for them. Sure would like one of those for my Tique.

The factory horn has some authority to it, and the car is actually longer than a 2001!

Speaking of horns, you guys have got to check out this site for a serious laugh- these guys put train horns in cars and film people's reactions. Very primitive but completely hilarious: http://www.hornblasters.com/video.php - http://www.hornblasters.com/

Larry: Had not thought about model car kits in 45 years! My brother used to build model airplanes and hang them from our bedroom ceiling. I would lay in bed looking at them thinking that was so cool. Fender skirts! LOL! Of course that was before kids started to sniff the glue instead of using it on the kits.

75 if your going back to the days of full length fender skirts, why stop there? Need to complete the package with some nice curb feelers. By the way when you work at a tire store those cool fender skirts are not so cool if the owner does not keep the latches oiled.

I would sure build one in my 89 to keep those a**holes in their big yachts out of my way... and more importantly, out of my skiers way!!
