Hi,

i could buy a brandnew Holley 4160 Carb with electric choke for little money. It was originally ordered for a 4.3l motor. Will that work as replacement for my old Holley 4160 on my PCM 5.8l Ford?

TIA,
Tom

Depends- you need a 600cfm. You can look it up by the LIST number.

they both have 600cfm, although I don't think both carbs will have the same LIST numbers.
It could be either Holley Part No. 0-80492 or Holley Part No. 0-80551.
What are the other differences? Baseplate, gas-inlet?

TIA again,
Tom

Hi again,

my current carb has LIST-50419-1. The other one is LIST-7053-1. At least the latter is a 600cfm carb. I can't find any information about the first one. It has an EC-number which is some kind of european approval number. The latter has (if uncahnged) the following specs:

Part No.: 0-7053-1
Model No: 4160
CFM: 600
Primary Venturi Diameter: 1-1/4
Secondary Venturi Diameter: 1-5/16
Primary Throttle Bore Diameter: 1-9/16
Secondary Throttle Bore Diameter: 1-9/16

Any ideas wether this will work in a 1988 SN 2001 with the stock PCM Ford 351?

Thanks again,
Thomas

If its a 600cfm, then it will work on your 351w. Jetting and PV size may vary between list numbers, but those can be swapped easily.

The 50419 sounds familiar- its probably the original 600cfm. You can call the Holley tech line and they should be able to tell you the differences between the 2 carbs.

After having i final look at the carb, i should probably replace "brandnew" with "rarely used" ;)

Sadly enough, it's not that easy over here in Germany, because finding parts for holleys is a bit difficult and very few people are still doing crabs anyway...
