My friend just couldn't deal with looking at the weathered old dash in my '79 Southwind. I thought I could just do up some new switch labels and it would be done. I was wrong.

This spring he sourced some teak and we spent an evening with a router, sander and some teak oil. I had to replace the oil pressure and temp gauges and grafted the steering wheel from our '88 S/N 2001 to it and heres how it turned out:

You forget just how much you stare at the dash during the summer. It is nice to know exactly where the "Off" position is for the lights and stuff too.
