Can the stainless steel strip that goes all the way around the hull at the deck be polished or should I just look for a new one? Mine is not dented but very scratched.

Depends how much you want to spend. It's about $65.00 for 12 feet at boaters world or west marine. Here's the place who makes it and the diffrent profiles.

Mine is aluminum, not sure what else they used,but they do have stainless.

You are probably right mine is aluminum also. I may spend the bucks if the rest of the boat comes out as good as I hope. Thanks, Paul
