How did everyone find out about this site, tell your story.
I found out about this site 4 years ago from a good friend name John Givens. And I have been telling peolpe about this site daily when they call for help on the older boats. This site is a great tool. 
I think Keith owes me a Jacket by now. WOW an CORRECTCRAFTFAN.COM JACKET another cool idea!! |

I was thinking about purchasing my first Correct Craft and decided to see what was available on the web should I have questions.
When I found this site... I stopped looking any further and joined. Have been happy with the help I have received and pleased that I have had the opportunity to offer help or input to others. I got the bug to look for a SN about a year ago. Typed 'Ski Nautique' into my web browser & CCF was the 1st thing that came up.

In the late 90s there was a site called nautiquefan.com which I read all the time. Then one day, it disappeared. One day I was searching for photos of older CCs and came across this site. Thought it was the same guy at the time. Turned out it was not the same guy, but that's ok. Really got involved with the site when the idea came up for the first GL reunion. I was laid off several years ago in the middle of winter, and found myself daydreaming about my Barracuda, which at the time was slumbering above the ice in the boathouse several hundred miles away. As I recall I typed Correct Craft Barracuda in the search bar and within one or two key strokes found CCF, where I lurked for a least 2 years until my friend Pete badgered me into joining, and inviting me to the latest GL reunion. I bought my Skitique and went looking for infomation on google, found CCFan and never looked back. Wish I would have found this site first!

I'm one of the early arrivals I guess, member number 38 (1-8-04) It would appear that the three "still-with-us" regulars that were here before me are Keith (#1 1-25-03), Brad (#12 11-17-03) and Reid (#18 12-6-03) How strange that Brad and Keith live about 30 minutes apart. I originally signed on as "Larry". Pretty clever, huh? (After I got my boat I changed my screen name.)
Anyway, That winter I was looking for a second boat. I owned an 89 Supra, but wanted a second boat to keep at our place in NC. When I was a kid we owned a 66 Mustang. I've always had a thing for Correct Crafts, particularly those from the '60s. We had one when I was a kid, but you don't see a whole lot of them in Maine. When the internet first came out, my favorite search topic was Correct Craft, just to look at pictures of the older boats. CCF came up one day in January while I was surfing on a slow day at work. Keith was looking for brochures and I knew my brother had about 30 years worth of them. I started scanning them in and the site has been a regular part of the day since.
It seemed to take a couple years for the forums to become active, but it has sure become a great community. I've met a lot of really decent people. Whatever happened to Tom Ryan who was one of the most active members back when I first joined? ------------- |

you mean tryan? I probily pissed him off years ago, I started long ago and they are still trying to catch up on posts, But I was looking for parts then when I first got my boat. had a supra and found a decent site that helped with a few problems. When I decided I was going CC or bust on the next boat went searching and found this most excellent place. I tell every CC owner I can about it--including a guy yesterday who has an 98 Sport. The summer of '06 was the first summer in recent times without access to a boat. The prior 5 years, we used my families' 1957 Chris Craft with my wife and young daughters. My Dad passed away and the Chris Craft was not at Green Lake where I spent most of my time, most summers of my life. I ached to be on the water with my family, however, I sat at the end of the swimming pier and was nearly at the point of tears.
That winter, I started looking for a boat. Had to be an inboard, fiberglass, classic and affordable. I started looking into Centurys (almost bought a big, fat Coronado) but Google (or higher powers) brought up CCF.Com. Prior to January '07 and CCF, I didn't know what Correct Craft was. I knew of Nautiques, of course, but I never knew the parent company made boats "since 1925". While searching the classifieds and lurking in the forums, I found my Classic and it was only 20 miles away. It was exactly what I wanted. I finally got up the nerve to ask a few questions http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5797&KW=raindog - on my first post . Little did I know that thread would have set a pattern that will impact my life for many years to come. I ask a noobie question, a bunch of good guys offer great advise, Jbear jumps in with good natured encouragement and then the whole thread goes off-topic  .
Also, everything I mentioned in the post that I tried to avoid, I didn't. And I couldn't be happier. Everyone here has been so willing to help me improve the old girl. I truly could not have made this boat safe and reliable with out them. Our boat, this site and the reunions changed many things in my life. The time I spend with my wife and daughters on the water are the happiest hours of the year. We all have picked up watersports and have become quite passionate about it. And we all look forward to the reunions and other times we get together with other CCF'ers. I went looking for a boat and I ended up with a bunch of friends across the country. I was searching trannys, voila.
PLBC tipped me off to the site. He posted our 88, which is the third oldest boat in the diaries behind Keith's 79 Mustang and a 62 Competition Skier posted by Keith as well. I honestly thought tryan went off to Iraq and didn't come back. I emailed with him off the site, and he told me he just got busy with other things besides the boats. I thought he had a third, smaller Correct Craft. Something from the 60s with a "fireball" engine it it??? I joined this site and a couple others probably around my freshman year in college, just when you think you know it all. I don't even want to know what my first post was. For me...it was at first searching for info...we had one CC but bought the 2nd (classic)and looked for advice on either to rebuild or by a new engine. A Warm welcome by ReidP, Paul Walters and Jbear...who all provided info and support.
It was a really special moment to meet those guy's and instantly become friends. And as one thing leads to another...an entire network of friendships have developed sense then...words can not begin to convey the meaning of a "family of friends". It seams to start with the boat...and expands into so much more. Flat out...the people here ROCK! I heard the Magicman Alan...say something this while visiting Rob and Dena and others in Indiana...we could go to any state and find a member who would take us out for a day on the lake! A reason to first come on the site...and so many more to stay and become envolved! Stang logic  ...ok...it takes ten good people to counter balance one shi**y person...so I figure each time I encounter a shi*head...I can find ten people on this site to erase that person(the sh*thead)....so far I have found a balance in this strange place we live!

I joined my first waterski club in the early 90's. The towboat there was a Ski Centurion, but one of the members owned a '92 SN. First time I saw that boat, I was sold! From that moment I started dreaming of owning a CC...
In the summer of 2007, it started to look as if the dream could finally become a reality, as a friend from the ski club I'm in now told me he wanted to sell his '89 SN. I drove that boat on quite a few occasions while he skied behind it. So I told my wife I really wanted that beautiful boat, and she immediatly agreed. So in august 2007 we made a downpayment on the CC... I started to look for info on the net and typed "Nautique" in the search bar... Found PlanetNautique.com, the2001.com and started to look on there. Good sites, but only when I digged deeper and typed "Correct Craft" in the search bar, I landed here... The great welcome from you guys made me feel right at home! Since then, CCF.com has become a daily routine for Chantal and I. We made great new friends on here, and we are so looking forward of meeting some of them next summer!! We are convinced that our stay with JBear and Patti will be an unforgettable one... And, I won't even start on GL next year. We will be there!
Stang, to me it goes way beyond that... It's really becoming worldwide. I had owned my 88' for a while and was looking for some help with something and found nautiquefan.com. I too freaked when it disappeared of the net and wondered what I was going to do. Found PN and joined there but soon found out that most members there were guy's who had newer boats. Googled Correct Craft and came up here. Never looked back since. I visit the other 2 owner websites but they just don't cut it for me. I'm here 5-10 times a day and maybe once a week on the other 2.
Thanks guy's for all you do here but most of all thanks Keith for providing us ALL with what I consider the MOST valuable set of tools any boat owner could have. The 1533 is the diary listing number, which does not appear to have any correlation to when you joined or added your boat to the diaries. Billy, your diary entry is 1533 but "boat doctor" signed in as approximately member 237. Brads barracuda had to be one of the first diary entries and it is number 507. Chris is approximately member number 54 but his diary entry is 756. you need to try changing the way the results are listed and choose oldest then you might get your numbers right. Then subtract the two for guest and adm as they are no-one then you'll see I was 52 and the doc was 1292 or page 3 and page 52 respectively for everyone that has signed up not that are actively posting and actuall those numbers can come down some as there are a couple duplicate people with different Id's hell Bill if you know what your orginal screen name was then that will be posted too pretty easy if you go into the members list option. ------------- http://www.correctcraftfan.com/diaries/details.asp?ID=756&sort=&pagenum=1&yrstart=1979&yrend=1979 - 79 nautique |

well you know if your going to start conterdicting what others have to say and basicly tell them they are wrong then you should be a little bigger person and be prepared to be corrected, don't start throwing stones because I answered a simple question then you throw out numbers that are not even close to the actuall facts and then through in the bone head comment You'll have to ask so and so because i don't see a corrolation between the two, no ***************, Really, wow how many people post there diaries post at the same time the regester? I was actually working on a 62 wooden Higgins at the time (thus the username- original ehhh?)..didnt own a CC then, but was looking for a 60's one.
Like a lot of the guys here... found the site a thru a search engine, which ultimately led to buying my "temporary" 64 American Skier.
