Went to some swanky client entertainment event yesterday. Spent about 2 and half hours cruising the San Francisco Bay on board the USS Potomac, which was Roosevelt's presidential yacht from 36-45. Pretty neat to look around the boat and to have a few cocktails where FDR hosted Winston Churchill, Queen Elizabeth, and others. BKH

Brian,

Now there's a boat with some stories. I guess you don't try to look too much like a tourist at an event like that, but did you get any pictures?

Brian,
I have a vague recollection of reading a story about that boat, and its restoration some years ago. Who owns it now, what shape is it in?

Chuck, you are correct, wasn't appropriate to be snapping photos like a tourist.

Brady, I would say the condition is fair. To M3Fan's point, that boat led a hard life. I believe it even sunk at one time. Nevertheless, they've done a nice job with the restoration, and they continue to improve it as time and money allows. Did they leave Pete in charge of the plug?
