does anybody know what the first year correct craft came out with the open bow

Looking at the Reference section, the Martinique had an open bow in 1987 but the Nautique did not have an open bow until 1990.

According to the brochures, youre 100% right. I do believe that there are some early production 1st gen Sport Nautiques running around that are MY 1989, though. The open bow Ski Nautique didnt debut until '92. Im pretty sure there are Southwind bow riders dating back to the 70's.

The "true" open bow Sport Nautiques were in production from 1989-1992. After that, CC went to the "playpen" bow style, versus the walk-through bow like they had during the 3 year period. You can get a sense of the bow by going to www.Embreys.net then clicking "Upholstery" then "Daves 92 Sport Nautique". There's a good photo there that shows what the bow looks like.
