John and all the rest,I thought you might like this-

This happened Monday,Tech was driving and noticed smoke under dash,he's ok. Suits came out yesterday said they have never seen one this bad, can't even tell where it started. Rumor has it Ford wants to see it also. Why is it never the old junkers?

Interseting Gary...it is never the old trucks.
Tech should not throw his butts behind the dash.

Best part...no one got hurt!

Was this at your garage?

Yes I got it tonight Bruce, havn't had a chance to look at it yet,but thanks again.
It was a u verse tech,John the ones who install the TV, in our area. They don't let them in our garage, but our mechanic does the work on the trucks. They are new and under warrantee,so for now all he has to do is oil changes, and anything the company has put on. Hope it was the GPS unit

What year model is it? They have a recall on a speed control thingy, which will cause a fire if not replaced.

Here is a quick up date-I at first thought cruse control then I remembered who I worked for! they think it was the inverter used to power the laptops. Our trucks have docking stations that power the pc but these trucks don't.They use an inverter and the regular pc AC adaptor. They then overload them putting battery chargers on them for their drills etc.Rumor has it that they were even putting higher amp fuses in them also.
