Just thought I'd throw this out and see what comes back. I have family in Bowling Green Ky and surrounding areas and, since I'm now retired, decided I might look around for another place to live. I lived in the Tampa Fl area for quite a few years and loved the skiing, but I decided this time to try out Kentucky near the family. Any one skiing around there? Where are the hot spots? I'd like to stay somewhere near Bowling Green area but wouldn't mind being near some of the fan family too if we could. Here in NJ the skiing has nearly gone away. Any responses and ideas would be appreciated.

Our family use to meet at Dale Hollow Lake. It's clean , big and deep. It's cool to see someone come out of a little creek footin past a house boat when your on the top deck. It would be a great place for a reunion.

We go to Lake Cumberland every year, it about an hour from Bowling Green. Very much like Dale Hollow. It is our favorite place to ski, always can find flat water. Their is also Barren River reservoir close by. I am not sure the size of the lake or how well the skiing is but it is closer. The college in Bowling Green KY is Western Kentucky University not Bowling Green State which is in Ohio, so I am not sure that the earlier info applies.

you really don't want to go to Cumberland to ski unless you like narrow busy waters to ski on. Most of the time the water is un skiable on the main body. Now Dale Hollow's a whole different ball game, center lake is also another good one not sure how close to BG it is, but Dale Hollow is your best bet and I believe closeest to BG,KY

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'll be going to the area during the winter months but I'll have to check it all out again when we can drop a boat in and ski.
Waterdog and 79, thanks to both of you for the suggestion, it sounds like Dale Hollow is the better of the two for sure, and not too far away....of course I have yet to pick a place to live if I do go so I'll check everything out. Since I'm retired and don't need to consider places of employment, it makes the skiing a higher priority. If I do get there we can hopefully get together and meet in person some time.
Thanks a lot,
Ken
