How many quarts of oil would a 1977 Ski Tique with a 307 OMC engine take with a filter change?

It appears that the oil pan is oversize compared to an auto oil pan.

Roy,
It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a engine manual. Get the model no. (should be on a metal tag) and take a look here: http://www.marineengine.com/manuals/index.html - marineengine.com
BTW, they don't list a 307. Only the 305 so maybe someones been playing around with your engine or you are using the wrong numbers off the block. The model number will tell. Get some history from a PO if you can.

My 78 Ski-tique had a Blue water 198 Mercruser (305 GM) 7qt Alum pan. Put 6 qts in ,run it and check the oil level at rest in the water.
