Greg, I applaud this man. Heard this sound bite on the radio this morning on my way to work.

The pitchforks are coming!

Barack Obama has dubbed his behemoth fiscal stimulus proposal the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan."

But if truth in advertising were required of White House plans,
only one title would fit the trillion-dollar-plus-and-growing bill:

The Generational Theft Act of 2009.

I feel so stupid now that I paid for my house and put all that money away in my 401K. Now I only have 1/2 of my 401K left and the government is not going to give me any of my money back that I paid on my mortgage.

If I had just spent my money on stuff I really wanted and not paid my house off 15 years early, I too could have gotten some of my hard earned tax money back when the government bailed me out....

How dumb was I....

We are telling our kids to stop paying there mortgages hoping that they do not make the same mistakes that we did... Hopefully in 90 days they can start getting some of our tax money back.

Were's the Money? Well maybe we'll finally find out.

FOX Business Network won a victory Friday against the Treasury Department in its Freedom of Information Act request for details about the government’s bailout plan.

I'm hoping it's the start of some accoutablity, thou I'm not real optimistic.

Critter, I know you're kidding, but you could tell them to try this approach... http://www.krnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=9871794 - Mortgage challenge

I'm going to save myself from getting steamed and refrain from commenting. Don't get me started.

Thanks Terp, sounds like some have been able to make that work.
Cathie and I are just looking for a fair shake. If the government is willing to forgive some part of a persons current mortgage obligation, we just feel that we should be forgiven some of ours as ours should have run during this same timeframe. Just because we paid ours down early should not mean that we should be exempted from this opportunity to recover some of our obligations.
If I could get some of my home cost back, I think that I would actually invest in another CC. 66 Mustang SS would be nice..... And that would go to help the economy recover. A win-win situation.
